Started yesterday with paining the frame.
I started with the handlebars.
Just did some grounding on dome other parts.
Hopefully it is dry tomorrow. Then I can weld the last thing and sand the last parts.

I am thinking of letting the base frame matt grey. It is a light grey, but it has a very nice contrast with the black.
But I will see how it looks as I grounded it. As I like it, I get light grey, els I make it all black for now.
It will get a powder coat because it is way better than the paint. But that happens after I am back from my holiday.
Probably I will first get an second 29,1ah battery.
I reach about 150km with my 17,5ah. I reach over 200 with my 29,1ah and I will have then 2 of them. This with mode 5 and a speed of around 30km/h. As I go slower and adjust the assist yo that, I wil get even way more range.
No need to charge after a ride anymore.

Rain, rain, rain, all day long. 😭
So no welding or sanding done.
So I started painting the fenders matt black.
They where glossy and I want them the same as the rear.
Also painted the steering mount.
Sand and paint tomorrow the seat mounts.

Hopefully I can weld tomorrow and sand the last things on the main frame.
Then I can paint the last parts.

I painted the brake levers black. Where chrome look and now black. Looks way better.

Need to wait with building the bike togheter. The paint need several days to harden good. As I put it to fast togheter, I damage the paint.

Got longer brake and shifter cables.
As the bike is ready to put togheter, I can finally use the puther brake and shift cables I got.

Sanded the frame and fixed the bearings in the rear. They where to tight and now fit good.
Started putting the frame in primer.
Also printed a new display mount for my Bafang display.
Going to print a second one, because it also will be my mirror mounts.

Printing now the front cover and a cover/blinker mount for behind the seat.
Also going to print a mount for the DC-DC converter. 36v to 12v for my lights.

Tomorrow drilling some holes in the frame, for battery mounts, horn mount and to hold the caps in.

The paint is really temporary. It isn't that great and gets fast damaged.
As I come back from my trop, I go as fast as possible for a powder coat.

Fenders in the front came out great. They where glossy and now matt black.

Still need to weld the nuts.
Need to make something to hold them in place.
I do that first.

Welding of the m5 nuts went terrible.
I will remove the 2 I welded on and drill 2 holes for those 2.
For the one in front, I will use a m5 nut with a bold in it and weld them togheter on the frame. That gives me more material to work with and with the bold welded on it, makes that I don't have to open the holes after welding.

Other things I did.
I 3d printed a front cover where I mounted my led lamp to.
Behind the seat, I printed 2 covers. One with mounting for my blinkers and one without.
The one with the blinker mounts wasn't good. I am going to mount them to the part that makes that I can change the angle of the seat.

Main frame is now in primer. Will get the final paint tomorrow.

Also going to drill the holes and weld the 2 bolds with nuts to the front part.
After that, I can sand it and put primer on it.
Then paint the last few parts, and let it dry.
Next week, the trike will be ready, finally. We'll for now. Powder coat will follow later.

After that, I go full on my camper build.

Need a passport. 76 euro! That was 55 euro when I got it before! Crazy how expensive it gets.

Germany, but I want also England. Passport is just 10 euro more than the other option.
England you now need a passport if I am right.
We needed a Passport to come and go even when we were in the EU so we expect even more silliness at the borders now !
Are you thinking of coming to England on the trike ?
There is zero cycling and camping infrastructure in the England ?

Why do you think we come to Holland !

Painting the last parts ad the moment.
After that, I can start to build it up again.
Only need to drill a few holes, but I can do Tha after I build my bike.
Picking up some tools Monday. Then I can make the holes in the right size and also cut the battery mount, that I mount on the frame.

Tomorrow I will start building the trike togheter and also ad the front fenders.
Didn't weld nuts to the frame. M5 was way yo small. So I drilled 2 holes where I mount the fender mounts, and welded on each side one bold. 3 point mounting for the fender.

Only need to get some solder, but that will come later.
First make it ready do I can ride it again.

I made a start with the build. Need to repair a few miner paint spots, but I do that ad the end with a small brush.

The black will look good with the red parts I have. Today I think I will be ready for a big part.
I need some brake cables and a good cable cutter. So I will get that Monday and finish those things then.
I will use cable ties for now. This because it will all go apart again for the powder coat. After that, I work the cables nicely away.

Front fenders are now also mounted.

Only need to shorten 2 mounts on the bottom and paint the fenders and that is also ready.
As it moves to much, I can swap the front mount on each side, for a steel version. Easy to make and to replace. But I try this for now.

Now I am going to paint them, fix some small points with paint on the frame and build it all togheter again.
I will cut the brake cables, but I will need to wait for the inner brake cables, before I can use them.

On the fenders, the original mounts stick out. I probably will use them for some reflection, or I cut them off.

I went for the shorter fenders. Looks better and more stable.

Putting on the inner cables. Only have to tighten them and shorten them. After that I put on the chain and motor.
Seat will be the last thing that comes on.
Having a short break, but it is going good now.

Tomorrow I will adjust the brakes and fine tune the rear derailleur.
The front led bar isn't connected yet. That will come later. That is also the reason why the wire of the light and the horn wires are hanging over my seat.
As grips to the handle bars and adjust the mirrors tomorrow.
So a few small things and then I can ride again.
The battery mount ad the rear will come later.
I do some small things tomorrow and after that, I start with my camper.

Front fender mounts need some changes. They are to long, but I have a solution.
Forgot yo setup the gears, but other than that, it rides good again. I mounted the brake leavers a bit higher and a bit more angled to the front. Seat is now also good.

A few small things, but that is all.
Now eat, then adjust gears and remove front fenders and then to Eindhoven.
