As Popeye Said........ "I can't standz no more"

Update 2nd June 2020: Today was the first day when Thom & I had a full run at the project together. The morning was spent setting out the concrete pads in the formation required and all to the same level +/- a bit of "bubble" and offloading the delivery truck with all the timber. I was...

28"(or 700c) rear wheel in Warrior?

Probably will make next to no difference, but some people have chosen to add strengthening gussets where the rear forks and backrest/spine intersect to add some triangulation and therefore strength in this area. Maybe it is a good thing, maybe it just moves a potential for failure elsewhere on...

Paul, Saw this and thought of you ..... looks very "Python-ish" to me.

Update 1st June 2020: Unfortunately my labourer friend has had a mishap with his car and was unable to get here yesterday and is struggling to obtain a new radiator today. He hopes to be with me some time today or tomorrow. In his absence "Pansy Potter" (my other half) and I have knocked the...

Ok sap is rising and it's time to start a new build ??? Noooo....

The use of a sprag clutch and a rewind spring would probably do it. Sprag clutches are relatively cheap, but where to source a decent rewind spring? I would suggest steel cable rather than chain maybe? There are several cable or chain operated rowing bikes out there (even tandems) I wonder if...

Update 31st May 2020: The Old shed has been emptied in preparation for its dismantling. Once emptied, the true state of its disrepair was all too evident. The contents have been distributed around all of the other sheds and/or parked-up safely under waterproof coverings until the new shed is...

What about a "Jokes" thread? - I will start.

The police came to my front door last night holding a picture of my wife. They said "is this your wife sir?". Shocked I answered " yes". They said "I'm afraid it looks like she's been hit by a bus". I said "I know, but she has a lovely personality and she's good with the dog".

    The Marengo "Loki" Thread.

Errr.... sometimes. Oh? You want even MORE? I can keep the thread open, but perhaps start another one called "The adventures of LOKI on the loose"?

    The Marengo "Loki" Thread.

Update 29th May 2020: I am glad to report that the changes to "LOKI" are now all completed and that I shall be calling it a "wrap". The gearing has been dropped so wonderfully low that even I can ride at a reasonable speed with no joint-distress. So apart from any cosmetic "fixes" I am...

Update 29th May 2020: All is set for a good run at the project from Monday. I will collect the foundation pads later today and the emptying and tear-down of the existing shed starts Monday AM and the pads will get placed. The timber arrives on Tuesday and the build will get going in earnest...

    Golden rules of tidying ?

Unless (of course) all Brad's vehicles are parked out in the open air. In which case mother nature can do all the cleaning, washing and dusting she wants.

How do I weld to 14mm bolts together ?

I found that I could reach 1/3rd of the circumference at a time, so I welded, let cool while firmly clamped, then rotated.... rinse-repeat for each of the 3-layers of metal deposited. It wasn't "hard" just a pain to do.

I challenge anyone to guess what I am making here!!

Is it a "magic" trick involving numbers; where the "Victim" chooses a number without telling you what it is and magically that's the number that pops down into the drawer?
