On tadpole trikes etc. seems like a lot of the work is getting the two front wheels mounted with steering etc. so dumb question why not just put them on a solid axle and pivot the whole axle in the center to steer? I could see why not on a car weighing a few thousand pounds but a pedal driven...
I think if I was an engineer I could design a simple truss frame from carbon fiber tubes that would work but, alas, I am not an engineer. This is a simple truss from 1" square tubes carrying over 2,800 pounds but then again some of those balsa wood truss designs carry a amazing amount of weight...
looking everything over, needing to order some more plans, but I am leaning towards a delta trike configuration with a simple carbon fiber body over it. Either the Aurora or the Delta Wolf probably the Aurora. The Streetfighter seems to add needless complication to a Velo that a trike doesn't...
Although Brad might not be saying what you want to hear it would be irresponsible of him to encourage you to do something he thinks would fail. Same when I asked about carbon fiber I wanted an honest opinion on if it would work not encouragement to do something probably destined to fail.
Looking the plans over I can see how you rely on the properties of steel for more than strength but flexibility etc. so even if a carbon tube had the necessary strength I can see how it wouldn’t have the other necessary properties
Seems you rely on a specific amount of chassis flexibility as a...
Hi Brad
Odd I thought carbon fiber was the miracle material and stronger than superman. I won't dispute it with you as the designer you know better than I do but I was looking at the pre formed square and round tubes and joiners like here

I can buy the plans this week then sounds like they are adjustable to fit what I want. The body is just a shell no real structural value
I am mostly basing it on the Model T Bulldog aftermarket body of the early 1920's without the fenders and yes, the wheels will be round
Hi
Have a few questions about the streetfighter I was thinking of using it s the basis of a velomobile
Wheelbase?
Wheel size? Is it 20" wheels?
Track (the overall width with wheels)?
Are the above adjustable to a degree?
