Frontrunner build question

I am close to adding the head tube, and do not have a question about that.
But, soon, I will have to add the bottom bracket, and I do not understand why one would move the sliding adjustment back
ONLY 1", instead of, say, the mid-range of 2.5" ???
It 'looks' like the designer was a rather short person, and I am 6'2". If I only move the slide 1" back from the minimum, with my
leg length, no short person could ride this bike (IMHO).

I would think that at 6'2" you'd want to set the adjustment nearer the rear than the front but keeping enough overlap over the clamps for safety. Most others are likely to be shorter than you.

Not built one however a couple of observations.
Your height is not as important as inside leg measurement
Seat back angle also effects amount of adjustment needed.
Crank length is also a factor

When sat on the bike with your feet on a pedal as far away from your body as it can go you leg should still be slightly bent.

If you get the leg length very wrong you will get pain in your knee's either front of knee or back depending whether you are not extending your leg far enough or extending it to far [ not sure which causes which ]

A quick look at the plan suggests if you make the 2 horizontal parts 2" - 3" - 4" longer to start with they are easily trimmed down later should it end up to long for you ?

I understand what you guys are saying. Thanks. But, this is how they tell you to build the bike. I could not understand why
one would adjust the bike to 1" from minimum, then use my leg to get the measurement.
I think I will use the middle range, around 3" from minimum.
I already have a Bachetta Corsa recumbent, and know how to set the leg length.
Assuming I will finish the Frontrunner, someday another person will own it.
