This might go very good, or very bad.

But other than that you loved it and it looked cool right?

This might go very good, or very bad.

I certainly hope so, its the only reason I entered the draw.

This might go very good, or very bad.

Well, we will give it a few "entry/exits" on the driveway before bothering to insure it then. :)

This might go very good, or very bad.

I was surprised today to be contacted by text and e-mail about an online raffle I entered last week (I had forgotten all about it). Apparently I was the winner and this will be delivered to me on Monday. It is 49 years old, but has had some work done (like many ladies of that age). Here's...

    Modular tadpole.

Sadly I have run out of legs (and room) for cycling contraptions. I am struggling with what I have already, let alone building more. :( The spirit is willing but the body is past all hope I think.

    Warrior Wheels

Do you have health insurance? Would you like some? But seriously, if the wheels & axles will be supported on both sides it may not be a big problem. 100Kg /4 wheels isn't a terribly large loading.

    Warrior Wheels

16" front wheels on trikes is a common feature of racing trikes (e.g. Windcheetah) with that funny size 349 ERD. Touring trikes are mostly 20" on 406 ERD rims. At least that's what I am seeing. Of the two 16" sizes (335 & 349) guess which tyres are the more expensive?

    MicroCamper - Winter project

Their version of the vehicle has the "TARDIS" feature on the build spec? ;)

But.... as there are an even number of spokes surely 50% will be leading and 50% will be trailing no matter which way round you mount the wheel? This topic hurts what little remaining brain I possess.

Can I remove these magnets ?

Yes, you may remove the magnets, but don't make a mess. Good of you to ask. :)

    Will Aluminium be hard enough?

Yes, there are in fact 3 versions of the 2WD unit. One all from standard parts, and two others that include custom bits. I can (of course) make the hex receiver out of mild steel, but I bet my very expensive (£50) broach bit would prefer to eat the softer Aluminium. :) I think I will make it...

    Will Aluminium be hard enough?

What about 6082 is that too soft?

    Will Aluminium be hard enough?

I need to make a threaded insert that goes into the threaded sleeve of a freewheel (c.34mm Dia). Options are to make this out of Mild steel or Aluminium. Aluminium will be a lot lighter. In the centre of this piece a 12mm AF hexagonal hole must be broached. Will aluminium be hard enough to...

    Made a Commitment ?

I think so, ground and polished it is called "drill rod" in the US I think. Over here you find it a lot in gearbox layshaft applications.

Running something up the flagpole to get opinions please.

Here are the 3 2WD units I am making/prototyping. They are all just 2 independent freewheel units linked together, there is no "magic" involved. Left to right they are A, B & C A is a 7speed "simple-tools" version with 13mm AF sockets as the interface to the axles, Overall length is 95mm. This...

    Made a Commitment ?

Popshot is right, there is a variance between round bar/tube and axle bearing I.D's. I have found that generally bearings have a far greater level of precision in their build than round bar or tube (unless they too are specialist items). Our usual "Precision tube" supplier still has to deal...

    MicroCamper - Winter project

Are the canisters flat-bottomed? If so, you could put a patch of the Gorilla velcro permanently on the bottom of your stove area (once the surface is properly sealed and painted), and stick a fresh opposing patch (hooks/loops) to the bottom of each new canister? I tell you they are really...

Was only 360 cu-in (5.9Ltrs.) a mere tiddler. But nice and comfortable to drive.

    MicroCamper - Winter project

This is like my one but mine was all red. This was the same as my interior fitment. The row of studs you see above the window-line is where the wires for the curtains were mounted. Those 2 bench seats both flipped over and a dinette table went in between, AND they also folded down flat into a...

    MicroCamper - Winter project

Just a thought.... 1 can of spray glue and some of that reflective sheet they sell to put behind CH radiators here in the UK and you would have a durable, lightweight and sun-side reflective set of blinds.
