Build the Ultimate Cycle Chopper - OverKill!

OverKill is appropriately named because everything about it is way over the top. With its ridiculously wide rear wheel, and the ultra long forks, what else could it be called other than OverKill? Does a chopper really need a dragster tire on its rear end, or such a high frame? Not really, but does a roadster really need a Hemi? You know where I'm going with this. Actually, the main reason I built OverKill to such outlandish proportions was to retaliate against the mass marketing of big box store choppers. It wasn't long ago that 3-foot long forks and a 3-inch wide tire was considered off the wall, but today, you can purchase a cookie cutter chopper from a department store with a 4-inch wide rear tire and 3-and-a-half-foot-long front forks. Yes, OverKill was going to have to take things to the far edge of sanity if it were to succeed.

There are over 90 high resolution photos and multiple pages of clear and concise text detailing every single step of the building process, which includes alternate parts sources, and room for unique modifications based on your building style or available materials. There are no missing links, complicated formulas and angles, or hard to find parts in our plans - just good ol' garage hacking at its best. Even if you have never put a wrench to a bicycle before, you will be able to follow along and build your own ultra sick chopper from scratch. Check out the many choppers that have been built and even customized by some of the builders in our gallery. You will instantly recognize the chops based on this plan by their ultra-phat rear tire - an unmistakable characteristic of a chopper deserving of the name OverKill.

Even though this sick chop has proportions that rival some of the petrol-burning street customs, it certainly won't bust your wallet or require you to spend the next year in a machine shop. The fact is, OverKill is built from nothing more than an old car rim, some scrap bicycle parts, and a few lengths of electrical conduit using only a welder and grinder - yah, anyone can pull this one off using the tricks shown in this project. Every single step of the build is detailed using high resolution photos, and you will be amazed at how simple it is to add bicycle spokes to the car wheel, and there is plenty of room for you to add your own evil modifications to the frame. How does it ride? Dude, look at this beast, it was made for cruising! - check out the video below.

As you can see, OverKill not only rides well, but it dominates the road with its radical proportions and kicks sand in the face of conformity. Choppers belong to us garage hackers, so let's take back what is rightfully ours and send a message to those who think mass production is the way to go. Get building!
